Summer 2016 issue of TrusteeTop Four Searched for Policy Categories
Over 2700 policies are accessed each month by visitors using LTA's Library Policy Database. LTA website statistics* show that the most accessed policy categories are:
This information is very useful in letting LTA know on which policies we should focus, but the data only presents a partial picture. While the statistics tell which policies were viewed, they reveal very little about which policy topics were not viewed as a result of:
LTA is on a mission to continually make the Policy Database as useful as possible. To that end, a link to a simple anonymous feedback form has been added on the database page. Please use the form to let us know when you have found the database helpful or when your search for a particular type of policy did not produce the results for which you had hoped.
Additionally, links to policy writing tips and policy guidance have been consolidated and are now able to be accessed directly on the Policy Database page. These links are organized by policy category. A link which provides tips to help use the database most effectively has also been included.
Please continue to share your library's policies with your peers - the more policies and the more topics that are included, the more useful the database. Policies can be shared via pdf, Word, and Google Docs files, or they can be copied from your library's website. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and to share policies.
Thank you to all who have already shared and continue to send policies! *LTA's website statistics never reveal personal information, such as which person/library is searching for policies. All use of the database and LTA's website is always anonymous.
