Description:
This popular program is updated and revised for 2014. Trustee fundamentals will be covered, but more advanced trustee concerns will also be addressed. Part of the presentation will be based on your specific questions and interests.

About the speakers:


Mr. Strauss is a dedicated volunteer and advocate for libraries. He has served Jordan Bramley Library since 1995, Onondaga County Public Library as well as its Foundation, and LTA for nine years, where he also served as President. Organizations have benefited from Dick’s strong financial and operational professional experience since the early 1990s. Dick was the recipient of LTA’s Distinguished Service Award in 2013. This award is presented by LTA, on occasion, to those individuals demonstrating outstanding service to NYS libraries on a local, regional and statewide level.


Mr. Eisner is a retired public library director, and current chair of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library Board. He is the compiler of the Handbook of Library Laws and Regulations in New York State (currently being revised). His expertise includes knowledge gained from 42 years experience as a public library administrator in New York State. He served on the the Library Trustees Foundation Board (predecessor of LTA), is a recipient of LTA’s Velma K. Moore Award, and shares his advice with LTA members through his “Ask Joe Eisner” service.
